Dendrological garden
For tree lovers, the Dendrological Garden with its over 150 years old tree and shrub species offers a counterpart to the spa park.
The botanical garden is located approx 900 m from the spa park. In the middle of the 19th century, the globetrotter and nature lover Wilhelm Rother started bringing trees and shrubs from his travels and creating an exotic-looking paradise there.
In the meantime the stocks are partly around 150 years old. But the Dendrological Garden is not only home to exotic-looking plants, but also a historic alum mine. The construction of this mine is due to no less than to Alexander von Humboldt. The Dendrological Garden can be explored on a nature trail, sometimes under a guided tour.
